ICSAA 2024 Broken Anonymity and Gossip

This workshop focused on the primary dangers of broken anonymity in 12 step fellowships. Topics include the dangers of privacy breaches and how this can expose individuals to judgment or harm from employers, family, or the public. 
This breach can deter participation, erode trust among members, and lead to legal or professional consequences for affected individuals. 

Additionally, it undermines the reputation of 12 step fellowships and its effectiveness by compromising the confidentiality of members and providing a safe and supportive environment, crucial for recovery. 

Maintaining anonymity is not just a tradition but a fundamental principle designed to protect individuals and ensure the success of recovery programs.
